Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr

The Bochum Symphony Orchestra's new venue in the heart of Bochum's city centre was officially opened in October 2016 after three and a half years of construction.

In the treasure chest of the Ruhr valley, the Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr
music complex is a true jewel. In fact, it’s a relatively new arrival, but already
it’s hard to imagine a time when it wasn’t there.
If the music complex offers nourishment for the ears, it’s easy on the eyes
too. Opened in 2016 it was constructed to incorporate a former church and
offers a total of three imposing spaces of varying sizes in which performances
can take place.
The aforementioned church serves as a foyer. Here, visitors can relax and
enjoy their evening to the accompaniment of lounge beats.
The small room is used for readings, chamber music and the Bochum city
music school. The large hall is the centrepiece, seating over 1,000 and
designed with stunning orchestral performances in mind.
The name, incidentally, is a tribute to the publisher Anneliese Brost, whose
foundation was instrumental in bringing this complex into existence.
