The focus here is on the fish of the Ruhr, small animals under the microscope and unique sounds and scents to bring the Ruhr ecosystem to life. Since 2010, the exhibition has enriched the topics of climate and renewable energies. Curious visitors, from children and young people to adults, can give free rein to their love of experimentation and interact with wind turbines, water turbines and solar panels. The question of what can be learnt from nature when dealing with energy is revealed in a playful way.

A small, cosy bistro called Insel-Bistro in the entrance area offers a retreat to relax in the idyllic beer garden - a perfect mix of enjoying nature and urban flair.
